2020 Grown up Christmas List

This year has many of us rethinking what we have, need and can do without or otherwise kick to the curb.

If you are an 80’s child we all remember waiting for the catalogs, Sear’s and Penney’s, to fold pages and circle what we wanted. How many of us as adults have wishes that looking back really aren’t memorable it is the moments.

Now my list is much more simple. Please add if you want to respond.

One day with my grown kids to bake and decorate the tree then watch Christmas movies.

Spend time with friends and family that want to be around me without obligation.

Be able to hug friends without feeling like we are breaking a distancing rule.

Have someone need me the way my dogs do and run to me at the door every time.

True presents that have no value. Meaning people in my life that are truly present.

Love that has no conditions.

My childhood friend Meg back on this earth for a weekend for wine and laughter.

Peace to my kids

For hate to be nonexistent

Food on everyone’s table and people around the table to enjoy it.

Everyone to be kind without needing a direction to do so.

Love that isn’t presents but actions. A look, a connection, again kindness.

Christmas lights and warmth all year.

Feeling of running down the stairs or hallway on Christmas morning like when you are 8.

To be content in the moment and not always striving for better.

Finally a day when all of my friends and family can come visit and be merry.

Merry Christmas and peace to all!
