Happiness in Momhood! Lesson from a dog!

This world has us all upside down wondering if life will ever be normal again. Health risks and loss of incomes or even reductions of pay is enough to make all of us frustrated. Although many of us are content in our homes and safe.

One thing that is always the same is our ability to be a great mom and find happiness. Whether you are a mom who gave birth, a mom of fur babies or specifically picked your babies by adoptions. We all get to have a great Mother’s Day knowing we have our kids in our lives. The restrictions are an inconvenience. We can read a book, do a project play games, be in our yards. Help a fellow neighbor. We are capable of still living life just not the way we are accustomed.

Being a mom, especially if younger kids in this time can be a challenge. Keeping them busy, understanding why they can’t play with friends and not being able to run out and get what we normally bought is a change.

I challenge everyone to find happy with where you are presently. When we all were working we complained there wasn’t enough time now the time is available. We still can order via amazon, order carry out and be outside. We have the time to do something we have talked about for our whole life yet work or life burdens got in the way. Spend time with your family if you can, call or video chat. Do it now. Find the happiness in what you can do.

I know the cynic in all of us (myself included) will say it is hard to be happy. We can’t go to dinner, it is cold we can’t plant flowers. We have cultivated and grew our families, take pride. I have realized most of us spend the day doing ”have to dos” that we create. Very few things in our day are necessary. We do things to keep up with what we think is expected. What we should do is take a nap, have a cup of coffee and call your kids if they aren’t home. Don’t feel guilty. We have competed in a life where we need to play the I am busier card daily.
