If dogs made New Year’s resolutions

If dogs made New Year’s resolutions, what would you add? It is the time of year when we are making our New Year’s goals.

  • Bring the newspaper before destroying
  • Take on the role of a certified couch cushion fluffer
  • Participate in household chores by enthusiastically overseeing the vacuuming process
  • Attend ‘Bring Your Dog to Work’ days and boost office morale
  • Perfect the ‘sad eyes’ look to secure extra belly rubs

Humans don’t deserve the loyalty of dogs

  • Become the official ‘snuggle consultant’ to relieve stress
  • Volunteer as the designated ‘nap buddy’ for afternoon siestas
  • Offer moral support during workout sessions by laying on them during stretching
  • Attend cooking classes to learn the art of drooling strategically in the kitchen.
  • Commit to breaking my record for the longest uninterrupted nap
  • World record in the ‘couch potato’ category
  • Start a synchro team for tail wags with fellow furry friends
  • Convince the mail carrier that I’m the ally and cats are the enemy
  • Perfect the ‘invisible fence escape’ trick for ultimate backyard exploration
  • Start a howling choir at midnight, to keep the humans on their toes
  • Start a neighborhood watch (dog)
  • Perfect the ‘stealth mode’ when stealing socks from the laundry
  • Master the elusive skill of catching my tail – once and for all
  • Become the official ‘chief cuddler’ in the household
  • Initiate a neighborhood ‘biscuit exchange program’ for a variety of treats
  • Bark less, wag more
  • Master the art of the paw shake

Meant for fun but they will probably commit to their list more than humans

  • Sniff out new adventures
  • Chew more toys, shoes less
  • Become the ultimate fetch champion
  • Perfect the ‘puppy eyes’ technique and head tilt
  • Take more naps in sunbeams
  • Learn to sit still during bath time
  • Become the neighborhood squirrel patrol hoa
  • Share treats, but not my favorite ones
  • Keep my nose out of crotches and backsides
  • Make sure my bark is meaningful not just yammering
  • Be nicer to the cat
